Did you know that 65% of Americans use search engines to find information about local businesses? The internet has quickly become the new phone book. This has both advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, it’s easier to distinguish yourself and present all relevant information on your site. The downside is that, without a good rank, potential searchers won’t even see your website to begin with.
For veterinarians, marketing to online consumers is becoming especially important; about 80% of 18 to 34 year olds use search engines to find vets. Looking for ways to improve your veterinarian website? Here are three tips.
1. Veterinary Website Templates and Designers
SEO is important, but meaningless if links lead to a badly designed website. Your website is your storefront, and how professional it appears, and how easy it is to navigate, will impact how relevant users find your business to be for their vet search. Website speed, an aspect of design, can influence your success; 50% of users leave if a page takes longer than four seconds to load. Finding a design firm to handle this task is best; they have the experience and knowledge necessary to give you the best website possible. Ask to see if they have veterinary website templates that you could easily incorporate your information into.
2. Online Veterinary Marketing Ideas
Did you know that email marketing brings in $40 for every $1 spent? Email software is a safe investment with good ROI. Many web designers will even bundle it as part of their offerings. Create discounts, incentives, and special offers for existing clients, and find ways to reach out to new ones. Are there local events you could participate in? Remember when engaging with email and social media that users don’t want to be spammed with ads. Keep them interested with tips and facts about caring for their beloved pets. Remind them that you are an expert in what you do.
3. SEO for Vet Websites
If you’re working in a veterinary office, it’s probably safe to say that your expertise is not search engine optimization. For this reason, your best bet is investing in outsource local SEO. About a billion searches every week are for local products and services, and this will help connect you to the interested owners and pets in your nearby community. How necessary is SEO, though? Consider this: 80% of Google users rarely or never click on paid ads, and 75% never look past the first page of results. A quick tip for SEO? Simply keeping a blog on your website and updating it frequently greatly increases the number of pages for search indexing.

One response to “Need to Optimize Your Vet Website for Search? Three Tips”
as a cat owner, I can say that all this is very true. When I’m looking for a vet the first thing I do is Google something like “affordable good cat vet in Rochester area” then I check out the first three or four websites that pop up.
