When you think about the relatively brief history of the United States, there have already been dozens of historically significant historical events; in fact, that is an understatement, when you think of all of the changes that have occurred in less than 250 years. We also know that many of these historical events, while critically important to national and world history, have been tragic. From the War of 1812 to the Bay of Pigs to 911. While it is impossible to say one is more important to the history of the United States than the others, one would be hard pressed to find a more significant national event than the tragedy of the Pearl Harbor bombing, which marked the entrance of the United States into World War II.
A Pearl harbor tour allows those on Oahu tours to pay their respects to the 1,177 USS Arizona crew members who lost their lives during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which took place on December 7th, 1941. In fact, a large portion of the USS Arizona crew remains inside the submerged wreckage of the ship. In contrast to the tragedy commemorated by the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri is viewed as a symbol of victory by most Americans, as it played a key role in the official surrender of the Japanese in September of 1945.
For those who are planning a vacation to Hawaii, there is a lot to be experienced via Oahu tours, Pearl Harbor tours, and tours of the USS Arizona and USS Missouri. Of course, the whole visit need not be about war, because tourists can still experience the feast for the senses that can be attributed to the sunny skies, cerulean ocean, and white sands.

This sounds really cool but there are so many places to go that I would never spend the money on a vacation to Hawaii. While I am sure that I would love it, I have always been more attracted to the wilderness and mountains.
Thats weird because I feel the same way. I would SO MUCH prefer a vacation in a mountain cabin than on a tropical island. Even if I ended up enjoying the a tropical vacation more, I just do not consider the difference worth the cost.
